Merry Christmas, Here’s a Free Business
Ever wished someone did all the hard work and just handed you a business that works, no questions asked, no strings attached?
Well, even if you didn’t it just happened.
Here it is, the free business.
But what is it, and how do you use it?
It’s a complete local homepage website. You get users to set it as their homepage, and every time they make a search and click an ad, you make money through Google’s Adsense program. I’ve included a doorhanger template so you can promote your website to people around your city. You can expect to make a decent income when you have 20 people who set your site as their home page.
Why are you giving this away?
Because it’s the holidays, and “you get what you give”. Also, for every person who does this and makes $100 for their first month through Adsense, I make $100 too. So I get paid only if the business works.
So how do I make this into a website?
1. Get yourself a web host. If you don’t have one, Bluehost is cheap ($6.95 a month), and what I’ll be using to show how to build a site. So sign up, and get your own local domain name. I used NaplesIsHome.com for mine. It helps to pick a local name.
2. Sign up for Google’s Adsense program here:
Google’s adsense program is how the website makes money.
3. Click Adsense for search after you’ve signed up, and get your own code. Copy and paste that code into index.php where it says from the file you downloaded above.
4. Change your logo and the newsfeeds in rss2html.php to point to local news sources. You’ll need an RSS feed from a local news site, or alternately, you can just not use them at all.
5. Upload your changed files to your webhost when you’re done. You can do this by clicking the FTP manager in the Bluehost control panel, and then clicking on UnlimitedFTP. A new window will open, and you’ll connect to your website. Double click the folder name public_html, and then upload your changed files. There should be index.php here, the javascript folder, and the images folder. Index.php must be located inside of the public_html directory.
6. Promote your site to friends. 20 people will create a real nice extra stream of income for you while you sleep.
7. Give some of your profit away to charity! This is such an easy business that it’s not fair to keep everything to your self. Find a decent charity and help them out.
